Grateful that we can fall in and out of Grace and wake to find there is always more!

Greetings Everyone!

I have found myself falling in and out of Grace on so many levels – hence I am so grateful that there is more to be had!  Lizette reminded me how very fortunate we are to just be and then as my good friend Lorna would say “it spills out into the world!!!”

Mike Branch’s Birthday Riot was such a perfect way to celebrate being back in Grace!  My great friend Lafa Baker was a perfect companion to celebrate Mike’s special day!!! I am so blessed to have such an understanding and loving friend!  Throughout the night the blessings continued – Lafa’s amazing dance moves, Mr. Sanchez making a beautiful flower and then gifting it to me and a young man that remembered me from the coffee shop!!!  And the band – I could go on forever!!!  In case you didn’t notice I am a Mike Branch Band Fan!!!  If this is what life in recovery looks like SIGN ME UP!!!

A lot has been going on in the Alcohol and Drug field and I am so far behind on sharing the wealth of knowledge I have been gifted by attending so many trainings and reading some of the latest literature!!!  So please forgive me – and more importantly look forward to some amazing cutting edge information in this exciting field!!!  Look forward to the latest trend on Marijuana by Eric Martin, some exceptional icebreakers from Rob Marshall, and how the language we use “Inpatient vs. Residential” is detrimental if we want to get paid under the new Health Care Reform Act!

For today I will share that I have accepted an exciting new position as a detox counselor in Astoria!  The team is absolutely dynamic with a cutting edge attitude where everyone is treated as a vital part of the team!!!  In only one week I have literally been pulled into the family!!!  My supervisor is an absolute gem as she sat patiently with me to help me with my first assessment!!!  As I thanked her profusely for taking the time she reassured me by pointing out that she would prefer helping me learn assessments all over again (it’s been a while) rather than have to help me learn to break old habits!!!  Of course I thanked her again!!! My favorite perk comes in the form of food!!!  We get one free meal per day and the food is so tasty as it is prepared by some of the best chefs!!!

From a place of absolute gratitude as always “Grace On You” my friends!!!
