Hi Everyone!!!
Today is my first Mindful Smoking Presentation!!! Although I did not get any solid registrations I did get several inquiries!!! Plus some interest in next months training!!! I have to admit I didn’t quite understand my own procrastination in promoting this event so I did some soul searching and found that it is pretty scary to take a step toward building your own business.
And I wasn’t sure if I should share this however this is part of the process – my process! My Grace-Filled Life after Addiction is unfolding as we speak. And I am humbled to say that all of the usual thoughts that go with with stepping out and doing something that we strongly believe in is much like jumping off of a cliff and not knowing where you will land!!!
Eric Martin too shared how thousands of clients have been surveyed and they want to talk about housing, insurance and jobs… But when he heard my passion and how I just went through a Recovery Coach training where we learned “We meet people where they are at” so talking about those things is part of the Mindful Smoking© process!!! People who smoke miss more work. Even if you don’t want to quit but are here taking in the information that is Recovery at it’s best!!! Eric quickly jumped on board and approved the CEUs!
Eric’s other feedback was that no one has ever offered a professional presentation monthly! “That’s just never been done!” I am stepping out on new ground and doing it a bit differently – however I am so passionate about this topic that I can not allow my fear of failure can not stand in the way of my decision to address this life saving dialogue that needs to happen – we need to not only start talking about how tobacco use affects all of our lives but also continue the dialogue – this Mindful Smoking© is an ongoing process!
Improved Outlook – another benefit of attending!!! I love being a part of the Chemical Dependency Training Consortium of the Northwest because monthly I am surrounded by professional people who care – I attend the Cedar Hills Hospital monthly trainings at the Double Tree because once again I’m surrounded by people who care!!! They may even be there to collect their CEU’s however by the time we leave we are all better for it! Compassion Fatigue goes down – Burn Out goes down!!! We benefit as do the beautiful individuals we work with!!!
So every third Saturday of the month from 9 am to noon I will be at 18428 SE Pine Street, Room 105, Portland, Oregon 97233!
Thank you Dr. Olga Parker of Modus Vivendi, LLC for donating the space!!!
Tobacco use kills 450,000 individuals every year. In 2005 there were 4,000 chemicals in the smoke of one burning cigarette – in 2012 there were 7,000 – I say were because I wonder how many there will be in 2020? Or will we begin vaping???
I look forward to seeing you there!!!
