He has to be one of my first memories at then Southwest Washington Medical Center! Here I am in the ED setting as an employee for the first time as a Screening and Brief Interventionist through the WASBIRT program. As one of the nurses shared with me later – we wait and watch you before we invite you in “you have to pass!” And Dr. Lloyd well his presence was so strong – solid yet it didn’t take me long to notice the level of compassion he possessed. The type of caring that people need when they are hurting!
He was equally loved by all of the team too!!! I used to love hearing him and Jennifer dialogue back and forth! I remember thinking who is this guy? And the few gatherings that I went to outside of work the Mexican Food Restaurants he was there putting a smile on all of our faces!!! He might be known as the Cowboy I knew him as the doctor who appeared very tough but had a sweet compassionate heart.
Plus he quickly accepted our presence at the ED as noted by his many referrals and he and Dr. Stump would say “I wish I had more time to spend with the patients” hence would articulate his appreciation for the WASBIRT program.
Thank you so much Dr. Lloyd your kind and loving ways will continue to live in our hearts – you are a legend of a gentleman.
You will always be loved and equally missed. I can’t help but feel you are somewhere beyond touching even more lives!!! A beautiful soul like yours has to live on – Right !!!
Sincerely,
Guadalupe
