Sometimes We Could Use A Gentle Reminder – October 2021

Awakenings (1990) – Remind Them How Good It Is Scene (5/10) | Movieclips

Perhaps you have never seen this life affirming film or perhaps it has been awhile!

This gem is based on a true story so while it does not have the Hollywood ending we Americans are accustomed to – this film does deliver a strong gentle reminder of how blessed we are to be able to enjoy life’s simplest pleasures like choosing to go for a walk from a person who had been in a comatose state for years.

In another scene Robert De Niro is making his request to go for a walk in detail – as he walks he can choose to go to the right or the left or he can choose to go straight! Can it get any more simpler than that? The stuff that most of us, including myself take for granted!

The miracles that can happen from human contact, believing in people, even the will of a ball and in this case medication in this life affirming movie, appear to be the antidote for giving up on life and ourselves!

We may not get the happily ever after yet we get that it is what was chosen for us from the moment of conception to the point where we were able to choose for ourselves (influenced by what was chosen for us – a topic for another day) and to the point where we ourselves transition – all of it matters because you matter! So, lets value each and every precious moment between birth and transition and each and every person in our lives.

Gentle reminder there will not be another October 2021 ever again? As there is no other you anywhere else in the world! What are you/we/me/mwe willing to do to truly get how delicate and precious life and the people we are blessed to be surrounded by in this once in a lifetime October 2021.

I would love to hear from you!

Sincerely Grateful,

Guadalupe!
